Privacy policy

Everywhen (everywhen.app) is a free website with a live day-and-night world map, world clocks, a meeting planner and ambient focus sounds. You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or other personal details. Everywhen is also an Android app. This policy covers both the website and the app.

Settings stored on your device

Your preferences (theme, language, sound choices, saved meeting-planner cities and hours) are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and you can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. The app also uses a service worker to cache files so it loads faster and works offline.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, pages, countries and device types. It does not use cookies, does not track you across websites and does not collect personal information. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.

We also use Naver Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies to tell new and returning visits apart and does not collect your name, email or other details that identify you. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Naver Analytics runs only after you allow it in the banner; elsewhere it runs unless you turn it off. You can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings in the menu.

Advertising

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. To do this:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.

The Android app

The app works like the website, with these differences:

• Settings (theme, language, sound choice, favourite cities, today's focus count) are kept on your phone only. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.
• Ads are shown by Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can reset or delete the advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Google settings.
• Location is asked for only when you tap My location. It is used on your phone to find the nearest city and is never sent to us.
• Notifications are used only to show the ambient sound that is playing, with a Stop button, while ambient mode runs with the screen off.
• Sounds are downloaded from everywhen.app when first played and kept on your phone, so they play offline afterwards.
• Send feedback in the menu sends your note and its kind, with the app version, Android version and phone model, to us by email. It is not stored on a server, no email address is asked for, and we don't reply.

Other services

• Buy Me a Coffee: if you choose to support us, the payment happens on buymeacoffee.com under their privacy policy. We do not see your payment details.
• Hotel links: city pages link to Trip.com. These are affiliate links: if you book after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Trip.com may set its own cookies to record the referral, under its own privacy policy.
• Links to other sites (for example sound sources on the credits page) are governed by those sites' own policies.

Children

Everywhen is a general-audience website and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
